The Company

Formed in 2006, Fulcrum quickly established a wide-ranging client base in the life sciences and technology sectors, including academia, all size of businesses from micro start-ups through SMEs to corporate, inward investment and other specialist teams in government, charities in the sector, and VCs.

As a specialist marketing company with clients in the UK and overseas, we pride ourselves in enabling organisations to accelerate the commercialisation of their technologies. This means that you get to a revenue generating stage quicker by ensuring that the innovation is developed and marketed in-line with the market’s requirements.

We are straight-forward in our approach, and we are effective thanks to our wealth of experience and extensive contacts.

We know that these alone aren’t enough however: central to the way we work is the belief that strategy and implementation need primary market research to support their successful outcomes. So we speak to people, undertake surveys, gauge real opinions. As a result, validated, relevant and up-to-date information and evidence informs our reports and recommendations; we believe that excellent research demands excellent research.

Jeremy Jones

A graduate biochemist, Jeremy has 30 years experience in senior sales and commercial management positions in the life sciences sector.

His most recent roles saw him driving the commercial development in IP-based start up companies. Prior to this Jeremy held various senior jobs at Whatman International (now part of GE Healthcare), where he was instrumental in creating the Healthcare Division. This covered the medical device and diagnostics sectors, and grew to a turnover of £18m with 37 marketing and sales staff.

Jeremy also indirectly managed eight manufacturing sites with responsibility for devising and implementing all new product development and overseeing new technology and acquisitions.

With expertise in commercialisation that is second to none, Jeremy has built a global network of contacts in senior positions in a number of life science companies, including Waters, GE Healthcare and 3M Healthcare.

Jeremy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Outside work Jeremy is an avid rugby fan. Having only recently retired from playing, he enjoys dispensing critical comment upon those who are still young enough to play. He also enjoys good food and wine, and although initially discerning of its quality this wanes after the second bottle.
