Client: A clinical stage biotechnology company developing novel cancer treatments based on oncolytic virus therapy. The company spun out of Glasgow University with R&D labs in Glasgow and HQ in London

Fulcrum was commissioned to provide an open innovation platform and accompanying promotional campaigns to maximise awareness of the forum

The Problem

Client needed to improve its progress towards revenue generation through more collaborations and clinical trials that would generate data for its technology. The client wanted to create an open innovation forum through which it could collaborate with other research groups and generate this clinical data.

The Solution

Fulcrum worked with its selected partner to provide an open innovation platform with its own website and 'back office' system for members to communicate and share data securely. Fulcrum developed and managed an extensive marketing communications programme, mainly using digital channels, to raise awareness of the forum and the client brand generally.

The programme included both paid and organic search engine optimisation; social media marketing, regular blogging, email campaigns, banner advertising, event attendance on behalf of the client, flier production, and other collateral. The digital campaign was supported by targeted PR campaigns and Fulcrum also built and managed an extensive contact database, and eventually took over management of the main company website.

The Outcome

Fulcrum successfully raised awareness of the open innovation forum and the brand generally, generating regular traffic to both the OI website and the main website, and creating a respected social media presence.
